Baked Caramel Corn

1/2 c. margarine
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. white corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 qts. popped corn

Melt margarine in 1 1/2 quart saucepan. Stir in sugar syrup and salt. Bring to boil, stirring constantly and boil over medium heat without stirring 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in soda and vanilla. In large bowl gradually pour hot syrup over popped corn, mixing well. Turn coated corn into buttered 17x12x2 pan and bake uncovered in 300 degree oven 30 minutes, stirring after 15 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool corn. Loosen corn with spatula. Break into pieces and eat.
